The 2018 Pennsylvania Super Late Model Power Rankings: Week 8

Hey there race fans, it's time for my weekly update those here takings we keep.

This week was yet another week that mother nature decided she didn't want to see much racing. All the Friday night tracks got their stuff in, with the exception of Bedford, who utilized a Sunday rain date and ran their show off on Sunday. None of the Saturday night shows scheduled managed to get their show in, though, because of the wet stuff falling from the sky. Sunday normally would have seen Eriez finally joining the fray for the year, but they too got rained out.

This week's scoring shows were mostly regular shows, with the lone special being a 3k ULMS show at Thunder Mountain on Friday night.

Week 8 officially puts us two months into the season, yet in reality, and we're starting to see some trends. Most of the names in the top ten are the same names we see year after year, with the exception of Mike Maresca, who is really a rookie in a super late model. It seems he has taken to the division in a hurry though, and I tend to think he'll be a perennial contender going into the future.

That said, let's go ahead and get to those rankings.

1. Jeff Rine***, 38 points. Jeff got the win at Bedford Sunday.

2. Jared Miley**, 20 points. Jared was victorious at Thunder Mountain Friday.

2. Andy Haus**, 20 points. Andy failed to score any points this week.

4. Mike Maresca*, 18 points. Mike came home second at Thunder Mountain Friday.

4. Max Blair*, 18 points. Max ran fourth at Thunder Mountain Friday.

6. Dylan Yoder**, 17 points. Dylan got a third at Bedford Sunday.

7. Michael Norris**, 16 points. Michael was first under the checkers at Lernerville Friday.

8. Alex Ferree, 13 points. Alex was third at Thunder Mountain Friday.

8. Gene Knaub, 13 points. Gene went scoreless this week.

10. Mike Pegher Jr., 11 points. Mike took an 0fer this weekend.

And that's your top ten for this week. Check back next weekend to see what's what. Hopefully everybody get's their shows in and we get some points scored, although, this coming holiday weekend appears as it's going to be beautiful Friday and pretty meh the rest of the weekend, so next week's update might look shockingly similar to this week's.  Gross.

And about that holiday weekend. Please use your head and refrain from drinking and driving. It's never cool to do that, and it's really not difficult to just not drive if you've had a little too much to drink. And use caution if you decide you want to use fireworks. It's definitely not cool to blow your fingers off. Nobody wants to give a high three.
