The 2018 Pennsylvania Super Late Model Power Rankings: Week 7
Hey there race fans, time for me to update the rankings for this week.
Mother Nature played havoc on the racing yet again this past weekend, as all of Saturday's tracks that had super late models scheduled were rained out. This seems to be a prevailing scenario this season. This coming weekend looks terrible again. This is terribly frustrating for everybody involved, from fans to racers and everybody in between. Hopefully we can get a nice weekend soon that allows everybody to get their racing fix as regularly scheduled.
Speaking of regularly scheduled, I made an error last week in my scoring. I have pledged to score every super late model race in the state these days, and I missed one track. McKean County Raceway added a super program kinda last minute to their already scheduled opener, which was to be headlined by crate late models. I had forgotten this in my scoring, so the point totals were off by that show. I have added those points into the poll and adjusted the scores accordingly. I apologize for the error.
Another issue that came up this week was the show at Dog Hollow. They advertised a 3k purse, which would have made it a special under my scoring system. However, the payout for said race was sliding based on car count with the cutoff at 19 cars. Less than 19 cars brought it all the way down to 1500 to win, which is effectively just a regular show. They failed to get 19+ cars, so it was scored as regular show. This will apply with all sliding scale payout shows going into the future. The race will be scored on whatever payout is actually paid.
That said, let's get to this week's top 10.
1. Jeff Rine**, 33 points. Jeff ran second at Bedford Friday.
2. Andy Haus*, 20 points. Andy picked up the win at Bedford Friday.
3. Dylan Yoder**, 14 Points. Dylan failed to score any points this week.
3. Max Blair*, 14 points. Max was one of the beneficiaries of my scoring error. He got the win last week at Mckean. This past weekend, he got fifth at Dog Hollow Friday.
5. Jared Miley*, 13 points. Jared got the win at Lernerville Friday.
5. Gene Knaub, 13 points. Gene took an 0fer this weekend.
7. Michael Maresca*, 12 points. Michael went scoreless this week.
8. Michael Norris*, 11 points. Michael came home second at Lernerville Friday.
8. Mike Pegher Jr. , 11 points. Mike was fourth at Lernerville Friday.
10. Dave Troutman**, Scott Bloomquist*, Coleby Frye. None of the three managed to score any points this week.
And that's the top ten for this week. Check back next Monday for updated results after this coming weekend's action. However, if the weekend is a total wash and nobody gets any shows in, then I'll just forgo the pictures of rain and whining and I'll see ya in two weeks. Let's hope that's not the case, though.
