The 2018 Pennsylvania Super Late Model Power Rankings: Week 5

Hello race fans, just like every Monday (with the occasional exception due to circumstances that may preclude me from getting it posted on a Monday) during the season, it's time for the weekly update to these rankings.

This week saw weather that wasn't exactly the best, as some rains rolled in Friday that ended up killing shows scheduled at Thunder Mountain, Dog Hollow and Bedford. Lernerville did manage to dodge the rauin and get their shows in, though.  Saturday was okay, albeit cold, but Port Royal and Selinsgrove managed to get their shows in.  Tri City was supposed to cap the weekend and a ULMS triple header Sunday, but they also lost the show due to a soggy facility and very cold temperatures.

So that basically left three scoring shows for the weekend, two regular shows (Lernerville and Selinsgrove) and one <5k special (ULMS at Port Royal). That said, not much in the way of changes in the top ten this week.

So let's go ahead and see who our top ten is this week.

1. Jeff Rine**, 27 points. Jeff came home second at Port Royal Saturday.

2. Andy Haus, 15 points. Andy had a scoreless weekend.

3. Gene Knaub, 13 points. Gene ran second at Selinsgrove Saturday.

4. Dave Troutman**, 10 points. Dave went scoreless this weekend.

4. Coleby Frye, 10 points. Coleby took an 0fer this weekend.

4. Scott Bloomuist*, 10 points. Scott had an .000 average for the weekend.

7. Josh Richards, 9 points. Josh failed to score an points this week.

7. Dylan Yoder, 9 points. Dylan had no points this weekend.

9. Earl Person Jr., 8 points. Earl also failed to score this weekend.

10. Jason Covert*, 7 points. Jason got the win Saturday night at Port Royal.

10. Tim McCreadie, 7 points. Tim wasn't able to score this weekend. '

And that's the top ten, well, eleven because of ties. Yeah, not many new drivers managed to get into the top ten, but it shows the importance I have placed on specials, because those consistently attract the best drivers in the state (and beyond).Hopefully, the weather cooperates this weekend and lets some tracks actually get their shows in this week.

 See ya next Monday.
