Preview: The Brad Doty Classic

The rainy weather today in Northwest Ohio can't put a damper on the excitement that has been building for the last couple months. The World of Outlaw Craftsman Sprint Cars will return to Attica Raceway Park Tuesday night.

All eyes will be on Donny Schatz. The kick off of the Month of Money seems to be when Schatz hits his mid season stride. He took the checkers last year during the Brad Doty Classic in it's return to Attica. He currently sits first in WOO points and will head into Tuesday night with 13 wins.

WOO rookie of the year contender Sheldon Haudenschild battled with Schatz last year during the BDC and had the lead until a late race caution. Haudenschild knows his way around Attica. He cut his teeth in sprint cars in Northwest Ohio and has a few wins under his belt in the area already. He has also proven himself to be an Outlaw worthy talent this season on the road and is the highest ranked rookie, sitting in seventh in WOO points.

The Attica/Fremont locals have already shown that they can run with the best as they swept the podium a few years ago when the Outlaws visited Attica in the spring. Everyone already knows to keep an eye on the black #5 of Byron Reed. Reed already has two wins at Attica this year.

DJ Foos has quietly raced his way into the top spot in FAST points and second in Attica points. He has one win at Attica this year and a handful of top fives. He is hands down my dark horse pick for the BDC. His quiet confidence behind the wheel has more than proven that he can battle with the best in the country.

Advanced reserved seating can be purchased online until midnight tonight by visiting www.atticaracewaypark.com and clicking the banner at the top of the home page.
