The Midweek Report

We hope you had a happy hump day here at TDN. And just wanted to get some valuable information to DIRT Nation. We normally lump news in brief into TWID (This Week in Dirt), but that's more of an off season thing. So when we get the time, we'll pass along a midweek report with a few points of interest...

Dale Blaney Is a Free Agent (For 5 Minutes)

Dale Blaney could be your driver if.....the price is right! After a tremendous 2014 campaign with owner Tony Kennedy, veteran sprint car pilot and former draft pick of the Los Angeles Lakers (boy did they ever miss out!), suddenly finds himself a possible pending free agent.

It was announced earlier this week, that Kennedy may eventually need to shutdown the racing operation due to personal business matters, possibly leaving Blaney without a ride.

You can read more about the situation Here  And for the record, we're betting that if the worst would happen with Blaney's ride situation, that he's snapped up by a new owner within 24 hours. There's simply no way a driver like Dale Blaney would spend substantial time out of a racecar, it defies logic.

Joe,,who Own Da Wheels?

Well officially, some group named Pay-Dirt Inc owns it, purchased it from World Racing Group over the last year and planned on running some of the most bizarre programs in recent memory. All of them had insane purses, and some were juxtaposed against prime SDS series tour races.

And now, it appears it's all for naught. It appears the property that Rolling Wheels Raceway Park will sit idle, or be turned into a drive in movie theater in the foreseeable future.

How to stay warm at cold weather races

It's that time of the year. The local tracks are starting up, and it's colder than hell outside! Don't be a wuss and wait till it gets warmer..

Every year we go to these chilly, early spring races and somebody starts to complain. Don't be that person.

Here's what you need, we're here to help:

Proper Attire:

  • Dress in layers
  • Start with your favorite driver tshirt
  • Add your favorite driver hoodie
  • Add one layer of long underwear
  • Wear those on the INSIDE, not OUTSIDE your jeans, don't walk around like an idiot!
  • Wool Socks
  • Boots
  • Hot hands for the front pocket of your hoodie
  • Your favorite driver's hat

Other helpers:
  • Alcohol actually LOWERS your body temperature
  • Get up and walk between events
  • Bring something to sit on
  • Find a member of the opposite sex and offer to cuddle

If you stick to the above, you'll have a great time and enjoy yourself, now get to the track, it's been a long winter!
