| Elite Eight Late Model Winner Jared Miley |
Fans were treated to an exciting 30 lap late model feature to kick off the night where Jared Miley patiently stalked the 10 car of Alex Ferree before making the winning move on lap 21.
Ferree and John Mollick led the field of 20 cars to green. The front row went to battle from the time the green flag flew both using the cushion and it was Ferree who got the early lead. Mollick would settle in just behind in second while Miley was in third.
A caution for Herman Bertolini and Brian Casey, who spun in turn two and collected Tommy Beck slowed the field on lap four.
On the restart Miley made a move around the top to get by Mollick to get into the runner up spot. Mollick would fade from there and eventually dropped out of the event. Miley was on the bumper of Ferree for the next few laps running about a half a lane below the 10 machine. They would run that way until a caution came out for debris on lap 13.
It was much of the same on the next restart as the top two guys would pull away while Davey Johnson was on the move behind them getting up into the top five. Miley made the move for the lead coming into turn three and nosed ahead of Ferree at the line, Right when Miley took the top spot away Dan Angelichio spun.
Miley would pull away when the field returned to racing and Johnson shot around Ferree for second. Gregg Satterlee, driving the Force 31, hooked the cushion wrong in two and flipped bringing out the red on lap 26. Satterlee was ok.
The H1 would not be stopped as he pulled away again on the final restart to pick up the $3,000 payday. Johnson was second, followed by Ferree, Mike Pegher, Jr and John Garvin.
The Renegades of Dirt made their debut next in the program. Twenty drivers representing seven states took the green and it was Tyler Nicely who took the initial lead. He would only keep the lead momentarily because he spun sideways coming off of turn two relinquishing the lead to Jacob Hawkins. Nicely saved his ump modified, but lost numerous spots on the track.
The spin bunched up the rest of the field giving Hawkins a nice advantage on the field. Rich Michael, Jr emerged from the melee in second place and went to work to try and catch Hawkins.
Hawkins was up on the cushion while Michael preferred the bottom line and slowly reeled in the 13 mod.
Michael caught him on lap 10 and Hawkins moved down to try and hold off the 17x. It didn't work though and Michael made the winning pass on lap 11. He would go on to pull away and take the non-stop main.
Hawkins ended up second, followed by Chris Basich, Steve Dixon and Evan Taylor.
The Sportsman class was next and Joe Kelley took the early lead from the pole . He would lead Terry Young for the first three laps until a caution for Rob Shook, who got a flat tire and spun, slowed the field.
Kelley regained control on the restart and held a comfortable lead while Jim Fosnaught was making moves behind him. Fosnaught methodically worked the bottom and moved his 20j car up to third from his 12th starting spot by lap seven when the yellow came out for Collin Burke.
When they went back to green Fosnaught moved into second and started to put the pressure on Kelley. The current Lernerville points leader came close to passing Kelley, but a yellow for Eric Piotrowski kept Kelley in the lead.
When the field resumed Kelley, who had been running the top, moved down to try and take Fosnaught's line away, but he slipped up the track and that was all it took as Fosnaught made the winning pass on lap 14.
Fosnaught cruised from there to take his fourth checkered flag of the 2014 Lernerville season.
Kelley settled for second and was followed across the line by Aaron Easler, Young and Pat Hanley.
Adam Hilton took the lead from third on the opening lap and cruised to victory in the Sportsman Modifieds to cap off the night. It was Hilton's second win on the season in his third trip to the Sarver speedway. Rocky Kugel recovered from a lap six spin to finish second.
