Lee Jacobs Prevails for first career All Stars Victory at Lernerville

A very happy Lee Jacobs led wire to wire to score for his first career All Star Circuit of Champions feature Friday night at Lernerville picking up $5,000 for his efforts.

"I've been running off and on with the All Stars for eight years," Jacobs said."It is a very special night. To come here tonight, be competitive and get it a win is something else. I got to give my little cousin Cody all the credit in the world. He did a hell of a job with this race car and I am excited for what the rest of the year holds for us."

Cole Duncan and Jacobs paced the field to start the 30 lap race and when the green flag dropped Jacobs shot out the lead.

While the driver of the John Lewis Racing 81 pulled out to an early lead the battle was fierce for second as Jac Haudenschild and Duncan swapped the spot a couple of times. Duncan was able to maintain second as the caution flew for Brad Howard who spun on lap five.

When the field returned to green Jacobs pulled out to a nice lead again and that battle for second raged on again as Haudenschild slid over the banking on the backstretch a couple of times trying to get past the Rudzik 49 of Duncan.

As Jacobs was working lapped traffic the yellow came out again on lap 16 for Brad Howard who spun to a stop. Just before the yellow seventh starting Danny Holtgraver and 14th starting Dale Blaney, who both experienced motor trouble earlier in the night, were able to get by Chad Kemenah to move into 4th and 5th respectively.

When the field restarted Jacobs again pulled away. Haudsenchild was able to get past Duncan after the long intense battle and to move into second. Holtgraver and Blaney would also get by Duncan in the closing laps.

In the latter stages of the race while Jacobs was in lapped traffic Haudenschild closed in on the 81 car.

"I was getting a little nervous," Jacobs said. "With about five laps to go I had lapped traffic running three wide in front of me. I just told myself I had to pick off at least one car a lap. We started doing that and it worked out good for us. I was getting a little worried because we were getting slower, but I thought we were probably good enough to have it sealed up."

Jacobs was right as he was able to cross the line first ahead of Haud, Holtgraver, Blaney and Duncan. It was not only his first All Stars win, but his first win at Lernerville too.

The Dalton, Ohio driver celebrated in style with a donut on the front stretch and he stood on top of the wing waving the checkered flag in victory lane.

"I had to ask my cousin first before I did that," Jacobs said. "I didn't know if it would hold me or not," he said jokingly.

For Haudenschild it was a solid second place run for him and his Destiny Motorsports team.

"(Duncan) and I went back and forth quite a few times and had a really good race," Haudenschild said. "We were able to get by, but Lee got away from us. I don't think we could have done anything with him so we were glad to run second tonight. We've been up and down all year. This is our best run with the All Stars. Hopefully we can stay on track and get a couple of wins."

Dean Jacobs, Dale Blaney and Tim Shaffer picked up heat race wins and Ed Lynch, Jr set fast time. Trey Gustin won the B Main.

The RUSH Crate Late Models were the second feature of the program and Nico Dabecco was able to take the early lead in the 20 lap event.

Dabecco would hold the lead for three laps until Dan Angelico was able to get by. While the 14 of Angelico held the top spot Michael Lake and Ryan Montgomery were racing hard behind him when they came together setting off a seven car pile up that brought out the red flag on lap six.

When the field went back to green Angelico continued to hold the top spot and Chad Ruhlman found his way around Dabecco and Josh Holtgraver to move into second.

Ruhlman would challenge Angelico the rest of the race running right in his tracks, but could not make the pass. Angelico stayed cool and held his line picking up the win, his first career victory at the Sarver Speedway. Ruhlman came across in second followed by Holtgraver, Dabecco and Andrew Wylie.

The Rush Sportsman Mods finished off the night. Jordan Eck, the inaugural winner with the series at Sharon, jumped out the lead as the field went green. Adam Hilton would quickly move from third to first on lap three to take the lead. The Buffalo, New York native wouldn't look back from there as he was able to push his lead to half a lap ahead of the field en route to victory.

The All Stars will be back in action tomorrow night at Mercer Raceway Park.
