Honorable Mentions:
The 29 year old Kingman, Kans. native captured his first career ASCS National Tour win Saturday night to conclude the rain-delayed weekend at Devil's Bowl. Stasa hasn't won an ASCS Regional race to date, but that didn't stop him from leading all 30 laps en route to the victory.
The 56 year old veteran got the job done once again. This time Moyer was victorious with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series at the I-30 Speedway in his home state of Arkansas. The $10,150 victory was Moyer's 41st career with the series and he is quickly approaching 800 career wins. An interesting note: Billy Moyer has already won a race with each of the three major touring series in the country (Lucas-2, NDRL, WoO)
Sanders had about as an impressive weekend as an open-wheel modified driver could hope for. Sanders spent 3 nights at the Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kansas for the United States Modified Touring Series "King of America IV". Sanders won the $1,000 preliminary event on night 2 of the three-day show and topped it off by winning the 100 lap, $10,000 to win finale on Saturday night. Sanders, who had been running second for most of the race, was the benefactor of race-leader Jordan Grabouski getting together with a lapped car with under 10 laps to go in the race.
Races to keep an eye on next weekend:
- WoO Sprints at Calistoga (4-5/6)
- WoO Late Models $20,000 to win at Farmer City (4-5/6)
- Lucas Oil Late Models in Mississippi, Lousiana and Oklahoma
- All Star Sprints at Attica (4-5/6)
- Spring Nationals Late Models in North Carolina and Tennessee
- Big Block Super Series at Orange County Fair Speedway
- Carolina Clash at Fayetteville Motor Speedway
