Bronson Edges out Ty Dillon for Most Impressive Speedweeks

In our first coverage of Florida/Georgia Speedweeks we saw plenty of action from a variety of different divisions of racing. First off, I would like to congratulate all winners the were fortunate enough to find victory lane against the stout fields they battled against night in and night out. Second, I would also like to applaud all of the competitors that were not able to reach the winner's circle, albeit because of bad luck or misfortunes. We the fans truly do appreciate your dedication and desire to race.

A number of different drivers made a case for our "Most Impressive Speedweeks" award, a TDN exclusive. As judges though, we were faced with the difficult decision of picking just one entrant that deserved the prestigious title. Without further adieu, it's time to reveal the results!

1st Place - Kyle Bronson

Bronson's spectacular speedweeks became one that will be hard for any driver to match. Typically in the driver's seat of his #40B open-wheel modified, Bronson amassed 4 wins (2 at Bubba's, 1 at East Bay and Volusia), 1 runner-up (North Florida), and 1 third-place finish (East Bay).

If that wasn't enough to claim the "Most Impressive Speedweeks" award, then the way he capped it off was. Kyle Bronson made a handful of appearances with his super late model to finish out the DIRTcar Nationals, and as always he went out in style. Bronson lead most of the WoO Late Model finale at Volusia Speedway Park on Feb. 22nd en route to his $10,000 and first career win with the series. It was also his first career super late model victory at the speedway. Ultimately it was this feat that pushed Bronson into the top spot for this award.

2nd Place - Ty Dillon

Ty Dillon also had a speedweeks to remember. While piloting his Team Dillon Racing #41 open-wheel modified, Dillon collected 4 wins and a runner-up finish in just 5 starts at the Volusia Speedway Park. As a result of his outstanding performance, Dillon was the recipient of the prestigious "Gator Championship".

Had it not been for Kyle Bronson's performance with the WoO Late Models, Ty Dillon most likely would have been voted to have the "Most Impressive Speedweeks". Nevertheless, great job to Dillon and his crew on an impressive Florida in February tirade.
