Dietrich & Montieth Off to the Races in NE Sprint Championship

Danny Dietrich (#48) & Brian Montieth (#21) are tied for the
top spot in our NE Sprint Car Championship

Some fabulous racing took place this past Friday-Sunday, with 10 '410 sprint car' events taking place throughout Ohio and Pennsylvania.

After an action-packed 10-race weekend, Western PA rivals Danny Dietrich and Brian Montieth find themselves tied for 1st with 23 points apiece. Hodnett dropped back to 3rd in the standings, just 4 points behind the lead duo. All Star point leader Dale Blaney sits 4th at a 6 point deficit to the leaders, while Ohio hotshoe Byron Reed finds himself in a 5th place tie with Cody Darrah and Lucas Wolfe.

Weekend Recap: Beautiful weather met the entire region for this first time in 2015. Before we get any further, let me remind you that only 410 cu. inch sprint car races count for points, and the scoring system is based off of car counts.

Cody Darrah was the most impressive driver of the weekend. His runner-up finishes at Lernerville and Mercer in ASCoC-sanctioned events for a whopping 8 points. Next in line was Brian Montieth, who was able to record back-to-back wins at Williams Grove and Lincoln which earned him 7 points.

Heading into the weekend it was Danny Dietrich and Greg Hodnett who were tied for 1st in the standings. Hodnett was only able to record 1 point, while Dietrich accrued 6 points for his win at Susquehanna and 2nd at Lincoln.
